MAX HITS: customer reviews and feedback
Spirit of punk!
I bought Max Hits the other day and I feel I have to say it's the first book that's made me feel really excited about the web since the little DIY manual I first picked up seven years ago.
In the ensuing years I've built various small websites, waded through techie manuals, read countless jargonistic guff and pretty much drifted out of website building back into the the warm, bitter and twisted embrace of cartooning.
To be honest I'd kind of lost the spirit of punk that I first had back when I nicked the Daily Telegraph's source code, replaced their graphics and built a Pele Football Poetry site.
However, thanks to your obviously well-drilled system of knowledge/enthusiasm/no-bullshit/laughs along with screengrabs from funky
web pages and eye on the big picture, I feel energised to renew my out of date HTML licence."

Absolutely fantastic book!
It's rare that I would describe any book as truly essential for web designers, but this book is it!
I've been authoring web sites for over three years now, and thought I had a good understanding of how it all works, but this book has taught me some incredibly useful stuff - particularly about planning and promoting a site.
Worth every penny! FIVE STARS

Superb book for all web authors!
I've found this book absolutely invaluable for helping me improve the design and navigation on my site and the search engine information is easily worth the investment alone.
The book explains in straightforward terms the best way to make your site 'search engine friendly' and the stuff on accessibility is invaluable - all designers should be forced to read it!
I only wish this book had been out when I started building my site as I could have avoided all the mistakes that I'm now going to have to fix!
I recommend it thoroughly for new and experienced designers keen to improve their site - and the graphics are lovely throughout too!

This should be on every designer's bookshelf
An intern brought in a copy of this book into the office and before I knew it, all the designers were demanding they got a copy too!
It's a great book that deals with the stuff that's often forgotten when building a site - like explaining the benefits of good planning from the outset and then getting the thing ranked highly on search engines! FIVE STARS

I love it!
Got the book yesterday and didn't put it down till I read the whole thing from cover to cover! This is great book for anyone wanting to learn the best way to plan, prepare and promote a website and the author's succinct and witty style doesn't make it feel like a class lecture! The in-depth guides about search engines and information architecture means I've learnt how to get my next site right from the start and there's some great inspirational illustrations in there too.
